Our Early Childhood Enrichment Program offers hands-on experiences for our students starting with our one-year-olds in Little Gators.
Library: The library serves as a gateway for the students to travel to different times and places through the magic of books. Stories come to life through interactive activities such as puppet shows, science experiments, and hands-on STEM projects that connect literature with the real world. They learn critical skills like identifying the parts of a book, understanding story elements, and distinguishing between fiction and non-fiction. With a focus on fostering a lifelong love of reading, they also develop responsibility as they learn how to check out and care for library books.
Music: The students are introduced to a variety of musical genres, helping them understand basic music concepts, while fostering a love for rhythm and melody. Through engaging activities like singing, dancing, and group performances, they build confidence and teamwork. They explore a wide range of musical instruments, including rhythm sticks, drums, shakers, bells, maracas, and tambourines, providing hands-on experiences that enhance both motor skills and creativity.Art: The students immerse themselves in creative exploration through art, learning to use tools such as scissors, glue, and paint to express themselves and develop fine motor skills. Our art program encourages not only creativity, but also problem solving and independent thinking, as students experiment with different materials and techniques. Through guided activities like painting, drawing, and collage-making, children explore various styles and art forms.
French: Recognizing that our younger students are eager learners, the early childhood French program aims at creating enthusiasm in each student for speaking a new language. With participation strongly encouraged every week, the children develop a confidence that translates into a happy experience. During class, the students learn through different media such as traditional French songs, childhood literature, videos, and hands-on activities.
